# 00039 :  can women speak in the assembly?
Please read 1 cor;11 ; 10 For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head because of the angels. This apply not only the head covering but in every situations we need to remember that the angels are looking at us .We are commanded to honour our husbands and to be submissive to them as to the Lord. If the Lord commanded us to keep silent in the churches for we are not permitted to speak let us be submissive as the law also says. 1cor; 14;34.Obedience is better than sacrifice. We are created for man. God saib to Eve our grandmother that your husband shall rule over you. So let us not disobey the law of the Lord.

Scripture says, "Women are not to have authority over man".

If a woman speaks, its common sense, that a female is monopolizing the assembly. It is forbidden for a girl to speak in the hall.

Thank You.

I say sunday meeting is the worship meeting and we have Lord's supper. It is wise that women be silent. We have ladies meeting for ladies to share their thoughts from the bible. I think thats what God wants from us.

Dear friends this is a perfect example of ignorant hermeneutics in the brethren and Pentecostal churches. We get one idea and run with it. When You look at the bible you can see that Women and Men have equal right in the church. Apstle Paul's comment in the Corinthians is taken as the command for the woman to keep silence in the Church
I think the issue is clearly discussed in a different string.
When we study we can see that Philip had four daughters who prophesied. This means they preached with authority. Prophecy has two parts foretelling and forth telling. Based on the experience warning the people to heed to the word of God.
Let us look at the book of Philippians. Apostle Paul considered these woman as his fellow workers.
You have to take the scriptures in context to understand the what is sing in Corith. I believe that there is no difference between man or woman for God. Woman should be able to do all ministries men do. If it is not the case then what we are really saying is God shows favoritism. He left that up to man.

It's all context Philip1. What context did those women prophecy? It is abundantly clear from 1 Tim and 1 Corinthians that Paul has instructed Women to be silent in the context of the church. If not, how do you explain these verses?

Dera Friends: In order to answer the question, "Can women speak in Assembly meetings?", we must study "Headship"

The order of creation and the sequence of headship

1. God- the omnipresent creator and the head of Christ- was present before the foundation of the world. He created the entire universe as can be seen in Genesis chapter 1. God is the head of Christ.1Corinthians 11:3
2. Christ- the co-creator and the head of man. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:2-3. For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. Col 1:16 Christ is the head of man.1Corinthians 11:3.
3. Man- the head of woman. God created man in his own image. Genesis 1:27. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 1Corinthians 11: 8-9 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 1 Timothy 2:13. 1Corinthians 11:3.
4. Woman. In relation to man woman was made. “Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man” Gen 2:22. In relation to God she was created. “In the image of God He created him; male and female He created them”. Genesis 1:27.
A woman speaking in an Assembly meeting where men are present it will be considered dishonoring her "head".

Dear ones, according to 1 corin: 14: 33- 37 The reasons why women keep silence in the common assembly
1,v: 33b It is the practice in all the churches of the saints.
2, v: 34, It is the law of God [Gen: 3:i6,]
3, v:35b It is disgraceful or shame for women to speak in the church.
4, v:37b, It is the command of God.
The church is the body of Christ and He is the head .The servants of Crist men or women need to be hidden in Him.According to 1 Tim: 2: 9 -15, Women are commanded to be silent and submissive. Is it hard to obey these commandments? The Godly women at all ages obeyed these and God honored them. Dear sisters, we are not inferior from men, we are the crown of man. Also the main and vital organs of the body like heart brain liver etc: are hidden.without those organs the body cannot function. Therefore let us be obedient and submissive to the lord and continue our functions in the body of Christ. We can do tremendous works for the lord.First of all let us be Godly, and humble, like servants for our Master.Let us do whatever our Master commaned us to do. The rest we leave to others.
Thanks for MMK for the wise and spiritual advic.
May God bless.

Dear Brothers and Sisters<
What is this? ebmathews is trying to take brethren assembly to the dark ages. God never discriminate between man and woman. The most glorious resurrection of our lord was first revealed to women and no man got that opportunity!! Please live as a Christian and not live between the lines. Man or woman if his/her speech is beneficial in spirit to others should talk, else shut their mouth (differentiated by the fruitfulness of the content and not by Gender) that is our duty.

Dear Kuriacha, I am sorry. My Bible and the word of my God is the same yesterday to day and tomorrowand for ever. I believe in the context and the commands that the Head inspire and I am willing to abide in it. I wrote the word of Living god which I believe and obey. If you want to misinterpret that is your choice.
Thanks.

Dear Kuriacha, accoring to gen: 1:27, and gala: 3:27-28 men and women are equal to god in c reation and in the union with Christ in the body of Crist. there is no doubt about it. The qustion is about women speaking over mem in the common gathered assembly of God, which clearly said through the inspired word of God in1:cor: 14: 34-36.Women are commanded to be submissive in 1 tim: 2:11-15. That doe'nt mean that women should be silent every whre. she is allowed to speak everywhere other than the common assembly where men are leading and have authority. women are to be godly and submissive to the head. that's all. Women's ministry in the assemly, the body of Christ is very important and valuable. All the Brethren assemblies are strict with this teaching and the brethren sisters are well aware of it and they have no problem to obey these commands ok? we are not primitive or in the dark age. We are still in the light of the great light of the world which is Christ our saviour and master. We are the faithful servants of our master hidden in Him and do serve him with humility and obedience. Praise the Lord.

women must give chance to speak in our assemblies. They are also created by God, in His image. The abilities, skills that God has given to women must utilise by the church for the growth of God's kingdom. When You look at the bible you can see that Women and Men have equal right in the church

The discussion is on wheather women should speak in church not to discuss on the headship or taleship.

bbg,
Do you believe in Bible?
Do you think it is the Word of God?
Do you Believe that the WORD is GOD Himself?
The Bible clearly says,
- women should be quiet in the assemblies of the
saints
- let them learn in subjection,
- let them ask their husbands at home if they
have questions/ doubts.
- When they talk in assembly they are usurping the authority the Lord has put on man.
- It is shameful for their menfolks if they talk in assembly
woman sinned first not man.
All these and more are in the Bible, if you care to look in to.
Please read,
I Corointhians 14:33-37
I Timothy 2:11-15
Of course, women and men are created equal by God and they have same position in the plan of salvation and yet, man has been given the authority to teach and to lead when women are to learn and be subject to men and thus to God ultimately.
WE ERR BECAUSE WE DO NOT KNOW THE WORD OF GOD.
women must not speak in assemblies were men are also gathered.

Dear believers, since we men and women are the members of the body of Christ the Church,we all are suppose to grow together up to the spiritual maturity. we need unity as the Triune God united in one with the Father the Son and the Holy ghost. We need to love one another as god loved us . We need to humble ourselves as Jesus humbled himself and obeyed His Father. We need to serve one another. we are commanded to go out and preach the gospel and bring sinners to the saviour. We are asked to remember our sviour His birth ,death burrial and resurrection and the promise that he is going to come back to receive us. all thesr things are true. Now the question and the conflict is weather women are allowed to speak in the common assembly where men are leading and have authority. the answer is "no" women are allowed to teach prech and serve the lord anywhere and everywhere where in groups and in single with the authority of men. The bottom line is women are suppose to be submissive and obedeient to the word of God and the command of the Lord. Women sould be silent only in the common gatherd assembly where men are in authority. women can sing together wiyh men, they can pray quietly, they can worship the lord, silently. These things clearly explained in the light of scriptures with enough refferences. I do'nt think we need to continue discussing on this subject any more to make more confusion and conflicts. Sisters, let us humble ourselves and continue to serve our master with our spiritual gifts for the common good of the body of christ.
May god bless us all
