Well Begun…. Genesis 1:1

It is not unlikely that many a times we look back at some activities we had embarked on and regret I only I had begun it well!

It involves a lot of planning and implementation of the plan in a meticulous way for a work to be successful. But how miserable it will be, if we fail even besides all the planning and the planned procedures !!

An old saying goes like this: Well begun is half done. If we begin the work well, it is as good as half the work is satisfactorily done.

Does it mean that it is the beginning that decides the success of the work? Is it only the beginning that matters? No, not at all, though the beginning does matter. It gives a good impression to others while it gives confidence to the person doing it to continue the work. Both are necessary for accomplishing the work well. The motivation derived from the initial satisfaction promotes the zeal to continue.

It is then wise to think about how to begin well. Man is the crown of God's creation. He is bestowed with a lot of intelligence, aptitude and capabilities. But we all have had occasions when all our capabilities experience fail. Do we then blame ourselves for the failure and curse….it is my fate? Well, that is how many people respond-if you are successful it is your capability and if failure, it is your fate.

Wait a minute and listen to II Peter 1:3 which reads: His (God's) divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness…. His divine power provides us with all things necessary for a blessed life-a godly life, such that there is no place, no need, for disappointment; no justification for negative thoughts.

So next time when you face an occasion like this, wait a minute and accept God's provision through his divine power.

Now turn to the scripture text Genesis 1:1 which reads: in the beginning, God. Give the right place to God who provides all things necessary for your life. Begin everything with God. This will make a lot of difference in your life. God first. That is how you begin well.

God in your work, God in your family, God in you-that is the blessed life God has in stock for you. Turn to him now.
